About Us

In March of 1968, Ed Callaham and Blaine Eynon organized a group of twelve founders with the focus of creating a premier golf club in Naples. By December, only 10 months after their first meeting, Royal Poinciana Golf Club had 401 Members eager for opening day.

The first of two golf courses officially opened on Thanksgiving Day, 1969, with the first tennis play on the courts happening during the same month. The gala opening of the Clubhouse was in January, 1970, and by spring of that year, the second golf course was open for enjoyment.

Driven by their dedication to remain the leading club in Naples, RP's Board of Directors adopted the "Commitment to Excellence" program in 1993, and this philosophy continues to be the backbone and beating heart of our club today.

In 2021, Royal Poinciana Golf Club was given the coveted Platinum Club designation. This award is sponsored by the Club Leaders Forum and is voted on every three years by private Club Managers and Club Presidents. The distinction is awarded to the top 200 clubs among the 6,000 clubs in the country. It represents excellence of services to membership, quality of club facilities, heritage, and an enlightened leadership from management and the Board of Directors.

RP's fiftieth anniversary in 2019 marked the beginning of a new era of growth and refinement. Not only will the club continue to build on its grand heritage, but the Clubhouse and grounds will undergo renovations that will offer our Members an even greater experience.

Royal Poinciana Golf Club currently enjoys a healthy waiting list, and its Members continue to enjoy the extensive amenities while introducing friends to this special Club.
